This is why you want your rear spare mounted high and not have an add on trailer hitch receiver

You also want to make sure that the gear you have inside is anchored down in some way so it will not be bouncing or flying around on trails

If you are going to use your Dormobile as Land Rover intended, a Salisbury rear axle assembly from a Series III 109 is a very good idea

The Land Rover factory optional front water cans mounted per the factory instructions do not affect the vehicle's approach angles
